New Dinosaur nearly undiscovered

Called Gualicho (meaning bad luck or a demon of local folklore), this was a difficult discovery. The scientists were denied access to the site by a local farmer for 8 years. Then the team escaped with their lives when their truck rolled in the remote Patagonian region. And then…they found nothing, for weeks.

The day before the expedition was set to finish, Peter Makovicky jokingly instructed one of his workers “to go find something,”. Minutes later she unearthed something with long legs, tiny arms was 7.6m long and weighed a tonne. Like T. rex, Gualicho is a theropod, one of the two-legged, bird-like dinosaurs. Despite its large size, the dinosaur’s forelimbs were the size of a human child’s.
